The Rendra REST API lets agents and integrations create, update and search documents. Authenticate with a Bearer token from Settings → API tokens. Base URL: https://app.rendra.so.

Create a document

POST /api/v1/documents

Parameter	Type	Description
titlerequired	string	Display title; up to 240 characters.
html	string	HTML body fragment. Rendra normalizes structure but preserves `<style>`, `<script>`, and external `<link>` tags.
docType	enum	One of `guide`, `playbook`, `policy`, `runbook`, `brief`, `spec`.
status	enum	Initial status. Defaults to `draft`.
tags	array<string>	Lowercase tags for search and filtering.

Search

GET /api/v1/documents/search?q=onboarding

Substring search across title, subtitle, summary, owner and collection. Returns at most 100 results, ordered by most-recently-updated.

Status transitions

Updating status via PATCH is gated by a workflow state machine:

draft ↔ review ↔ published — all directions allowed
archived can only return to draft

Invalid transitions return 409 Conflict with a clear error message — your client should treat this as an expected response, not an error.
